In recent years, we’ve learned that it’s not only important to engage in charitable work but also to share that work with the public and our employees.
Dot Foods President George Eversman explained why we talk about our philanthropy in a special message to employees: “Sharing information about the causes we support demonstrates who we are and what we value …. Other agencies and nonprofits see an opportunity to partner with us charitably. Ideas about improving our communities come to life.”
But most of all, we want our employees to understand how their work benefits their communities. “I want you to see the fruits of your labor and feel ownership in the good we do together,” said Eversman. “Your work makes your neighborhood stronger and healthier.”
There’s always more we can do to help. Dot employees can reach out to their local HR manager to get involved with their charitable committees or give us ideas to further support our communities. We also encourage agencies, nonprofits, and schools to apply for a charitable grant. Let’s look at some of our philanthropy from this past month.
