MT. STERLING, Illinois---Construction for a new Dot Foods Mt. Sterling Family Health Center is moving right along. The 4,795-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in early 2020 and is located less than a mile from Dot's corporate headquarters.
The health center will serve approximately 5,000 employees, their spouses, and their dependent children who are covered by Dot's medical insurance.
Premise Health, the world's leading direct healthcare provider, will operate Dot's near-site Family Health Center. The facility will include four exam rooms, a testing lab, two doctor's offices, various waiting rooms, and a rehabilitation center.
Healthcare services include condition management and education for high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and more. Annual physicals, wellness screenings, CDL certification, lab work, flu vaccines, generic prescriptions, and rehab services will also be offered at little or no cost to employees.
"The health of our employees and their families is incredibly important to us," said Dot Foods CEO Joe Tracy. "We want to make sure they are receiving high-quality medical care and that care is affordable and convenient. And we've seen at several other Dot locations across the country that our Family Health Centers are a great way to fill those needs."
The Mt. Sterling Family Health Center will be located on the first floor of a new two-story building Dot is constructing. As part of this project, Dot is also renovating the First National Bank building at 100 West Main Street, which is connected to the Family Health Center.
"This project represents a major investment in our employees and their families and in the Mt. Sterling community," said Matt Holt, Dot Foods vice president of human resources. "It's been really exciting to watch the building take shape over the last few months. We believe this is going to be a tremendous resource for our employees and their families, and we can't wait to open the doors in early 2020, so they can start using this state-of-the-art facility."
The Mt. Sterling Family Health Center is the second new building constructed along Main Street in the last 45 years; Dot's Dorothy's Market retail store, which opened in 2014, was the first.
This facility will also be the fifth on/near-site health center Dot has opened. Dot debuted the concept at its Georgia distribution center in 2013 and has since added Family Health Centers at the company's Idaho, Indiana, and Oklahoma locations.
