Mt. Sterling,Ill.- As part of its growing charitable initiatives, Dot Foods announces a donation of $20,000 to two area non-profits: Pathway Services Unlimited, Inc. and North Greene Area Food Pantry.
The Attic Pathway Services Resale Shop, located inJacksonville,Ill., will receive $10,000 toward the purchase of a computer, printer, cash drawers, software, countertops and more. The resale shop provides a place to work and grow for those with developmental disabilities.
"The grant from Dot Foods will enable us to purchase items that will help keep the store organized and running efficiently, as well as allowing us to track inventory," said Pathway's Director of Development and Communication Stephanie Baptist. "We are so grateful to Dot Foods and appreciate their support of individuals with developmental disabilities."
The resale shop operates Tuesday-Saturday at 1903 West Morton and accepts a number of items for resale, including clothing, coats, books, games and much more.
"We're glad to help Pathway as it provides opportunities for those with special needs in the community," said Dot Charitable Committee Chair Suzanne Kassing. "Their approach meets needs on multiple levels, and the work they're doing is truly admirable."
North Greene Area Food Pantry has been granted $3657.50 in cash and $6792.50 in Dot Country Store credit. The food pantry, located in Roodhouse, Ill., serves nearly 950 people in need each month.
"This grant from Dot Foods will enable us to purchase food and other needs for our communities," said North Greene Area Food Pantry Director Gale Custer. "We are so grateful to Dot Foods and appreciate their support in an effort to feed the hungry in North Greene County."
Dot Foods' charitable committee has recently expanded its service region to include Greene andScottCounties.
"We're glad that North Greene Area Food Pantry has chosen to take advantage of our recent growth," Kassing said. "Other food pantries in those two counties which are clients of Central Illinois Food Bank are also eligible to apply for support."
